CONGRATULATIONS SOUTHEASTERN NEW MEXICO ZOMBIES AND DANCERS! Our first ever Thrill the World Dance and Zombie Walk was AWESOME! We had over 185 dancers! We are so proud of that number because this was our first ever event and we are pretty sure we beat out a lot of larger cities with our numbers. Not that this is a competition – it is all for charity, but nonetheless, we could not be happier. Our videos and photos are now on our Facebook page.
Also, next years event has been scheduled. October 27, at noon! Plan on attending because we expect this one to be even bigger!

Zombies all over the globe have already begun to plan the 5th annual Thrill The World event. Each year thousands of people around the world come together to honor the genius of Michael Jackson and raise funds for charity–oh! and to have fun, too!
How do we do it?
We all dance to “Thriller” at exactly the same moment. Preparation is part of the fun but the feeling of being connected to people thinking and doing the same thing at the same time, celebrating a true inspirational genius of Michael Jackson, is what keeps people coming back year after year. Also, knowing what bad dancers Zombies are, it helps people renew or even discover the joy of dance, without worrying about whether they are “good.”
Following the Thriller dance, zombies are welcome to participate in the ZOMBIE’S ONLY costume contest and then the Zombie Walk in downtown Roswell – as well as the ADULT after party at Farley’s..
How does it work?
There are so many reasons for participating that we could go on, but this is how it works. Anyone can participate by registering with Thrill The World. Then Zombies learn the dance, and at 8 p.m., join the world in dancing to “Thriller”.
Raise Funds for Charity
This year, proceeds from this event will be donated to Harvest Ministries.They are a faith based non-profit, assisting families with a diverse variety of counseling. They also assist the homeless with food, showers, and laundry facilities. Harvest Ministries is a Regional Food Bank for families and 20 other partner agencies in Chaves, Eddy, and Lincoln counties in South Eastern NM.
Learning the Dance
THE DANCE WORKSHOP LOCATION HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE STUDIO + – 2000 S. MAIN ST.
We all use the same choreography based on the music video. Studio + dancers and instructors will be on hand to help you learn the dance and they will also be holding workshops prior to the event. You’ll realize it’s surprisingly easy!!
The Studio + will be holding workshops on October 22 and 29 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Participation in the workshops is free and you are welcome to come and go. Pre-registration is suggested, but not required.
